You've got your new Digital Phone service, now it's time to set it up. Let's help you get connected!
Step 1: Connect your BT Telephone Adapter to the router
Connect the BT adapter to the Phone1 port in the back of your router, like so
Step 2A: Connect your phone (In the same place as the router)
If you're happy having your phone by your router, then connect your handset to the BT Telephone Adapter and that's it, your phone is set up and ready to go!
Step 2B: Connect your phone (In a different place from the router)
If your home has telephone sockets around the house (they are typical in OFNL newer properties) then you should be able to use these as an extension socket so you can have your handset near any of these devices.
Where your OFNL modem is, there should be a telephone socket in the wall that has a telephone cable in it (the other end usually goes into your OFNL modem).
Take the telephone cable out of the OFNL modem and plug this into the BT Telephone Adapter.
You should keep one end of the Telephone Cable connected to the wall where your OFNL modem is
Then simply plug your handset into any of the Telephone Extension points around your home and your service should be ready to go!
If you don't have a telephone cable connected to the wall and OFNL modem, you will need to purchase a BT to BT cable (Male to Male) so you can follow the steps above. These can be found in most hardware stores and online retailers like Amazon.
