[Wi-Fi Support](https://help.homeunity.co.uk/support?hsLang=en#wi-fi-support) # How do I set up a Wi-Fi booster in my home? ## Setting up a Wi-Fi booster helps extend your Wi-Fi into rooms with weak signal and usually takes just a few minutes. A Wi-Fi booster helps carry your existing Wi-Fi signal further around your home. It works best when it is placed correctly and set up near your router first. ### **Before you start** Make sure: - Your internet is working - Your router is switched on - You know your Wi-Fi name and password **💡 Tip:** Set up the booster in the same room as your router first. --- ### **Step 1: Plug in the Wi-Fi booster** 1. Plug the booster into a wall socket near your router 2. Turn it on 3. Wait for the power light to appear **📝 Note:** Do not plug the booster into an extension lead during setup. --- ### **Step 2: Connect the booster to your Wi-Fi** Most boosters connect in one of two ways. **Option 1: Using WPS** 1. Press the WPS button on your router for around 5 seconds, until the Wi-Fi lights change 2. Then, press the WPS button on the booster for around 5 seconds (check the manufacturer's instructions on this) 3.
